INSULFRAX® LTX BLANKET
Insulfrax LTX is a LBP/AES fiber-based blanket product from Alkegen (formerly Unifrax). The product offers advantages such as lower weight of insulation systems to which it is natural to compare, high temperature resistance and excellent resistance to thermal shock.
Typical applications are in primary metal production as insulation in lids for transport crucibles, back insulation for refractory bricks or Fiberfrax®/Isofrax® liners or as sealing strips.
The composition of the product is developed to increase solubility in body fluids, and is in accordance with European norms under note Q of EU directive 67/548/EEC and TRGS905.
The production method of Insulfrax LTX mat has been improved, which results in smaller “shots” and thus higher mechanical strength and lower thermal conductivity in all temperature ranges. These properties provide the opportunity to reduce insulation thickness and weight, reduce energy losses, and lower the temperature on the cold side of an insulation solution. In addition, the product is mechanically stronger and produces less dust.
The production technology eliminates the need for binders, as the fibers in the product are mechanically bonded. This gives Insulfrax LTX blanket good mechanical properties and makes it chemically stable. The thermal properties remain unaffected even if the product gets wet or damp and dries again.
Insulfrax LTX blanket is available with and without water repellent impregnation (WR), and both versions can be supplied with different types of foiling. This makes the product very versatile and suitable for a variety of applications.
Insulfrax LTX blankets are the next generation of low biopersistent Insulfrax fiber and the product of choice for a wide range of applications in a number of industries.
The production method of the Insufrax LTX blanket is optimized, leading to significantly reduction in the amount of "shots" in the fibers. This gives properties such as higher mechanical strength and lower thermal conductivity in all temperature ranges.
Benefits of properties:
- Reduce insulation thickness and weight
- Reduce energy loss
- Reduce the temperature on the cold side of an insulation solution
- Increased mechanical strength
- Less dust during handling
The production technology eliminates the use of binders in the product; the fibers in the product are mechanically joined together, which gives the product improved mechanical properties. Insulfrax LTX blanket is a chemically stable product and the thermal properties remain unaffected if the product becomes wet or damp, and dries again.
Product types:
- Insulfrax LTX blanket is available with and without water-repellent impregnation (WR)
- Both versions come with different types of foil
