KLINGER BALLOSTAR KHA FOR EXPANSIVE MEDIA
In some applications we have expanding media. That is, media that increase in volume when exposed to temperature.
When the medium is encapsulated in the cavity between the ball and housing and the medium expands, the valve must be designed so that the pressure build-up is released and does not become a leak to atmosphere.
With small expanding media, valve design Self-cavity pressure relief is good enough. This means that the ball seal is designed so that the pressure build-up is released into the pipe.
But if we work with media such as "ammonia" and "hydrogen peroxide", which give higher or rapid expansion, then we have to drill a pressure-relieving hole in the ball which releases the pressure build-up.
In these cases, KLINGER Ballostar KHA provides the perfect solution.
